ORHigherEd Goes on Summer Vacation

ORHigherEd will go on a brief hiatus 6/1/15 for Founder/Editor Daniel Adams' wedding. The site will return 8/1/15.

Since its launch just six months ago, ORHigherEd has been busy promoting effective education policy in Oregon and around the country:
  • The May cover story of The Atlantic was titled, "The Upwardly Mobile Barista (link)" and focused on the College Achievement Plan partnership between Starbucks & Arizona State University. The article featured an interview with Daniel Adams and highlighted Adams' impact on student outcomes.
  • In May, Adams appeared on NPR affiliate, WPR's Kathleen Dunn Show (link). The show featured investigative journalist for Time Magazine/The Atlantic and New York Times bestselling author Amanda Ripley, and Adams' student Mary.
  • In April, ORHigherEd's podcast featured a two-part conversation with Amanda Ripley.
    • Part 1 focused on the Starbucks College Achievement plan and the efficacy of coaching (link).
    • Part 2 focused on Ripley's reporting on states which have undertaken effective education reforms (link).
  • In April, Adams was interviewed for higher ed blog, EdTrack (link). The interview focused on his work as a data analyst as well as his work at ORHigherEd.
  • In March, Daniel Adams' work as a consultant was cited in The Oregonian (link). The article focused on FAFSA completion in the state of Oregon.
  • In January, Adams' work as a consultant was cited in the Oregonian in an article titled, "Oregonians failed to claim $36 million in free college aid, study says (link)."
  • In January, ORHigherEd published a list of five key policy priorities for Oregon in 2015 (link).
